Oshodi-Isolo LG Chair Signs Appropriation Bill of N2.75B.

The Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has signed the year 2022 appropriation bill of N2.75bilion into law.

The budget tagged 'budget of transformation' was signed into law on Monday at the office of the council chairman.

Oloyede, while signing the N2.75B budget into law assured residents of the council of improved infrastructure promising that roads, schools and health care centres will top agenda.

He said; "With the signing of this bill, we will get back to work and complete our ongoing projects. We shall also be working more on infrastructure. We are going to concentrate more on Mafoluku, Shogunle and other communities in the council. We will be building new infrastructures to complement existing ones, we will do more boreholes and roads for the benefit of our people. 

We are going to focus on schools, most of the schools are delapidated, hence, we will be renovating our schools, then the health centres will be renovated and equipped. This year is going to be work and more work."

The council helmsman however appealed to residents to promptly pay their expected levies to make the council function optimally.

"The residents should please assist us with payment of their levies, we pray by end of this year we will surpass what we did last year," he appealed.

Speaking at the sidelines of the budget signing, the leader of the council's legislative arm, Hon. Rasheed Obasa, said the lawmakers speedily passed the bill into law after a critical scrutiny of the proposed budget to enable the chairman continue the good works he has started. 

He said; "We passed the budget to enable the council chairman to concentrate on the works he has started across the wards of the council.

"The relationship between the executive and legislative arm of the council is very cordial as you can see in the passage of the budget."

Speaking on the lawmakers' expectations from the signed budget, Hon. Obasa said they expect more work as has been done in the past by the chairman. 

He said; "We expect the chairman to do more work because he has been doing it, that is why he is being called Mr Project. The works the chairman is doing is what made us accelerate the passage of the budget to make it easy for him to continue the good works on infrastructure for the benefit of our people."
